According to an Al-Araby correspondent, the explosions heard in Khartoum are raising suspicions that an attack was carried out by a “foreign entity.”

Arab-language media is reporting before dawn on Wednesday that loud explosions were heard in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum. An Al-Araby correspondent cited military sources as saying that the explosions heard in Khartoum were caused by an attack which was carried out by a “foreign entity.”Israel has in years past reportedly struck targets in Sudan, which military officials say has been used as a way station for arms sent by Iran and destined for the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.

Jerusalem has accused the Sudanese government of storing long range missiles for Hamas.  Sudan, meanwhile, has been largely silent on alleged ties with Hamas since it could entangle the country’s president, Omar al-Bashir, with an accusation of supporting terrorism from the US and Western nations.
